Cook, Walsh to Co-Host Belle Vernon Town Hall Meeting on Nov. 1
BELLE VERNON – Reps. Bud Cook (R-Washington/Fayette) and Justin Walsh (R-Westmoreland) are inviting Belle Vernon Area School District residents and all other concerned citizens to join them on Thursday, Nov. 1, for a Town Hall Meeting. Beginning at 6 p.m., this informational forum will be held in the Belle Vernon Area High School Auditorium, 425 Crest Ave., Belle Vernon, PA 15012.

“Maximizing travel and tourism throughout the Mon Valley, regional job creation opportunities and progress reports on our latest student initiatives are just some of the featured topics we will be discussing,” said Cook. “Town Hall Meetings are still among the most effective ways to hear directly from the citizens we serve, learn more about their concerns, share ideas, and answer any questions they may have regarding state and local issues.”

“I look forward to providing a brief update on the work we have been doing in Harrisburg, along with dialoguing about state-related concerns,” Walsh said. “While the 2017-18 legislative session is coming to a close, many issues we did not complete are expected to be worked on again next year. If you don’t have other plans, I encourage you to come to this informative event.”

Cook and Walsh will open the meeting with an update on current local and state legislative issues. The forum will then transition to a panel discussion where attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and further discuss issues impacting the community. In addition to the state lawmakers, panel members are expected to include borough council members, county commissioners, school board members and township supervisors.

Interested individuals should register for this FREE event as soon as possible by calling either Cook’s Bentleyville district office at (724) 669-2242 or Walsh’s Belle Vernon district office at (724) 929-2655.
