Walsh Hosting Data Center Town Hall Feb. 24

February 11, 2026

HARRISBURG – State Rep. Jamie Walsh (R-Luzerne) is hosting a town hall meeting on the expansion of data centers in Luzerne County and its impacts on residents and local municipalities.

“This is the top issue in our district at the moment, and its impacts will be felt for decades to come,” said Walsh. “I have personally been doing a great deal of research on this topic and have even visited Data Center Alley in Virginia at my own expense to gather more information. I look forward to talking about a legislative package of bills I am introducing to establish clear and reasonable standards to ensure data center development in Pennsylvania occurs responsibly, transparently and with real community involvement. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions.”

The town hall meeting is being held on Tuesday, Feb. 24, from 6-8 p.m. at the Sugarloaf Township Fire Hall, 95 W. County Road in Sugarloaf. Please note, the date of the event has changed due to a scheduling conflict.

Walsh will provide information and take questions on data center expansion proposals and their potential benefits and consequences. A panel of four guests will also provide their research on the issue and take questions in their fields of expertise.

For more information and to RSVP, please visit Walsh’s website at RepWalsh.com and go to his “Events” page.
